Discussing the aegean sea dispute

The Aegean Sea dispute primarily involves Greece and Turkey, centering on issues of sovereignty and rights over territorial waters, airspace, and natural resources in the Aegean Sea. Key points of contention include the delineation of territorial waters, where Greece seeks to extend its waters from 6 to 12 nautical miles, which Turkey opposes, fearing it would limit its access and control. Additionally, both nations dispute the airspace, with conflicting claims over Flight Information Regions (FIRs) and national airspace limits.

The dispute also encompasses the continental shelf and Exclusive Economic Zones (EEZs), particularly regarding rights to explore and exploit underwater resources like oil and gas. Historical tensions, national pride, and strategic interests compound the complexity of these issues. Over the next three days delegates will have to navigate through these complexities and strive for a resolution.
